Know Before You Book

Level 1 or Level 2?

These two are confused more than anything else in Florida screening — and booking the wrong one costs you time and money. Here is the difference in plain language.

Level 1

Name-based screening

A Level 1 screening is generally a name-based check of Florida records where applicable. It does not involve submitting fingerprints.

Based on
Name and identifying information
Scope
Florida records, where applicable
Fingerprints required
No
Level 2

Fingerprint-based screening

A Level 2 screening is fingerprint-based and involves state and national criminal history screening when authorized. Most Florida agency and licensing requirements call for Level 2.

Based on
Electronically captured fingerprints
Scope
State and national, when authorized
Fingerprints required
Yes — submitted under your ORI
Not sure which one applies to you? Your agency, employer, board or licensing authority determines the level and the ORI — not the fingerprinting provider. Bring that information to your appointment, or contact us beforehand and we will help you confirm what you need before you pay for anything.
How It Works

Four steps, no guesswork.

Most rejected submissions come from one of two things: the wrong ORI, or an ID that does not match. We check both before you sit down.

Bring with you: a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID, and the ORI or agency information provided by whoever requires your screening.
  1. Confirm your ORI

Your agency, board or employer issues the ORI that routes your prints to the correct place. Not sure? Send it to us first and we will verify it before you book.

  2. Book and pay online

Select your service and reserve a time. Where government or agency fees apply, we will tell you what is due at booking and what is due at the office.

  3. Get fingerprinted

Electronic capture at our Orlando office, or on site at your workplace for corporate and group appointments.

  4. Track your submission

You receive confirmation and the reference information for your transaction so you can follow its status with the receiving agency.

CardScan

Live outside Florida but need Florida fingerprints?

You do not have to fly here. Have your fingerprints rolled onto a hard card by a provider near you, mail the card to our Orlando office, and we scan and submit it electronically to the Florida process under your ORI.

This is the standard route for out-of-state applicants pursuing a Florida professional license. Contact us before the card is rolled — a card taken incorrectly usually has to be redone, and confirming the requirements up front is the difference between one trip and three.

An important note on accuracy. Not every Live Scan provider is authorized for every fingerprinting purpose. We will confirm that your specific ORI and transaction type can be processed here before you book — and tell you plainly if it cannot.
Police Clearance · Good Conduct · Consular
International

Fingerprints for use outside the United States.

Foreign employers, embassies, consulates, immigration attorneys and overseas licensing bodies frequently request a police clearance, a certificate of good conduct, or an FBI record check. We prepare the fingerprint cards and documentation those processes require.

To be clear about what this is not. Immigration and other federal fingerprint applications are separate from Florida applicant submissions. If USCIS has scheduled you for a biometrics appointment, you must still attend it — we do not replace it. What we provide is independent fingerprint cards, FBI record support and clearance documentation requested by attorneys, governments, embassies and consulates.
Questions

Answers before you book

A Level 1 screening is generally a name-based check of Florida records where applicable. A Level 2 screening is fingerprint-based and involves state and national criminal history screening when authorized. Most Florida agency and licensing requirements call for Level 2. Your agency or employer determines which level applies to you.

An ORI is the identifier that routes your fingerprints to the correct agency for the correct purpose. Fingerprints submitted under the wrong ORI may be rejected or sent to the wrong agency, which costs you both the fee and the time. Bring the ORI provided by your agency, employer, board or licensing authority. If you are unsure, contact us before booking and we will help you confirm it.

Have your fingerprints taken on a hard card by a provider near you, then send the card to our Orlando office. We scan the card and submit it electronically to the Florida process under the correct ORI. This is commonly called CardScan or hard card scanning. Contact us first so we can confirm the requirements for your specific licensing purpose before the card is rolled.

A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID, and the ORI or agency information provided by whoever requires your screening. If your agency gave you a specific form, case number or authorization letter, bring that as well.

Yes. We offer mobile fingerprinting and corporate on-site fingerprinting for employers and organizations screening multiple people. Contact us to arrange scheduling and to confirm which services can be performed on site.

We provide fingerprinting support for FBI Identity History Summary requests, FD-258 federal fingerprint cards, police clearance and certificate of good conduct requirements, and other documentation requested by attorneys, embassies, consulates, employers or foreign governments. A personal FBI Identity History Summary request is a separate federal process from a Florida agency submission.

No. Immigration and other federal fingerprint applications are separate from Florida applicant submissions. If USCIS has scheduled you for a biometrics appointment, you must attend that appointment. We can assist with independent fingerprint cards, FBI record checks and police clearance or good conduct documentation required by attorneys, governments, embassies or consulates.

Booking an appointment is the fastest way to be seen, and it lets us confirm in advance that your specific service and ORI can be processed here. Our office is at 6302 Old Winter Garden Rd, Suite A, Orlando, FL 32835, open Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
